Every entity in Kick comes with a standard Chart of Accounts, designed to map to that entity type's tax form. The Chart of Accounts is fully customizable to support your client's reporting needs.
View and manage all general ledger accounts across entities by navigating to Accounting → Chart of Accounts in your client's workspace.
Accounts are organized by type and subtype. Use the Expand/Collapse All button in the top right to show or hide all account rows at once.
The rightmost column shows which entities each account belongs to, so you can see at a glance which accounts are shared across entities and which are scoped to a single one. To narrow the view to a specific entity, use the Entity filter in the top right.
To export the full Chart of Accounts, click the Download icon in the top right and choose CSV or Excel.
Use the filters in the top left to narrow the view:
Status — Active or Disabled
Source — Kick-created or Custom
Type — Account types such as Cash, Equity, Income, or Operating Expenses
Subtype — Account subtypes such as Bank Account, Contributions, Refunds & Returns, or Insurance
Every entity in Kick comes with a standard Chart of Accounts built to map to that entity type's tax form — simplifying reporting for both you and your clients. The standard accounts vary by entity type. For example, a partnership includes accounts like Guaranteed Payments, while a single-member LLC would not.
The Chart of Accounts is fully customizable. You can add, edit, import, and disable accounts to match your client's reporting needs or accommodate industries where the standard set doesn't cover everything required.
Standard accounts cannot be deleted, but they can be disabled. Disabled accounts are hidden from the GL account picker and journal entry editor while preserving all historical data.
→ Import your Chart of Accounts
→ Add, Edit, and Delete Accounts
Kick's standard Chart of Accounts includes six-digit account numbers, assigned automatically based on account type:
Assets
1
Liabilities
2
Equity
3
Income
4
Expenses
5, 6, 7, 9
Other Income
8
Other Expenses
8
Account numbers can be edited on any account. To hide them entirely, go to Accounting Settings and toggle off Show Account Numbers. This removes account numbers from the Chart of Accounts and all reports across Kick.
